Activating Horizon Cloud in the TestDrive portal

In this quick walkthrough we're going show you how to activate Horizon Cloud for your TestDrive account.

Walkthrough Summary

  • Log in to TestDrive Portal
  • Activate Horizon Cloud in MyServices
  • Confirm your account has had Horizon Cloud provisioned in the portal and that you received the service activation email
  • In order to activate Horizon Air you must ensure you have the following:

    • A valid account in the VMware TestDrive environment, signup here if you don't and follow this guide
    • Latest Horizon Clients installed, available via direct download here

    OK let's go, open your favorite web browser and navigate to the TestDrive Portal at:

    https://portal.vmtestdrive.com
    	

    Enter the username and password you received when you registered, you should land on your dashboard screen, now select "My Services"

    In My Services, you will see Horizon Cloud, select the slider next to the Horizon Cloud tile and click it to the ON position to activate the provisioning process.

    Once you have clicked the slider you'll notice there is a provisioning icon on the tile, indicating that the automated process is running.

    Within a few minutes you should receive an email with your access credentials and service URLs to your registered email address. This email contains a reminder of your username and password details, the access portal URLs for Horizon Cloud that you have been entitled to and the Administrative Console URLs. You can also see these URLs as part of the TestDrive Portal Launchers. 

    You will also see the links for the Horizon Cloud Consoles and Horizon Cloud Desktops in your TestDrive Portal Launcher. 

    You have now activated Horizon Cloud in the Testdrive portal, now you can go ahead and kick the tires by following the Horizon Cloud walkthrough guides.
