Extending customer accounts in Testdrive
In this guide, we'll walk you through how to extend customer accounts in the Testdrive portal
*How you can extend a customer account*
Customer Accounts can be extended in a couple of different ways
- From a 5 day to 30 day account with the addition of an SFDC/VMstar Opportunity ID or Deal Registration ID
- From a 30 day to 60 day account (applicable only to SFDC/VMstar registered and linked customer accounts) for one time only
So let's run through what we're going to do
In order to extend customer accounts in Testdrive you'll need the following
- A valid account in the VMware TestDrive environment, signup here if you don't and follow this guide
- Super User Access
- A valid SFDC/VMstar opportunity ID/Deal Registration ID which is associated with the customer
Open your favorite web browser and navigate to the Testdrive Portal at
From the Dashboard page, click the "Manage Invitations" button under the Users section.
This will bring up the Users page with your active invitations. Select "Extend Period" next to the account you wish to extend.
Remember you'll need a valid SFDC/VMstar Opportunity ID or Deal Registration ID to extend a 5 day account to a 30 day account.
If the ID was provided during the invite process or even afterwards to give the customer 30 day access, don't panic!
You can extend the customer account for a further 30 days ONCE from this wizard.
On the Account Extension page, enter a valid SFDC/VMStar Opportunity or Deal Registration ID associated with this customer and click the 'Extend 30 days' button.
If you enter an invalid SFDC ID or leave the field blank, you'll get an error
On a successful submission, you'll be redirected back to the Dashboard. The user will also be displayed in the 'Users' section.
Easy peasy! Let's recap what we did!
