Activity reporting in the Testdrive portal

In this walkthrough, we'll show how you can view user and customer activity in the Testdrive environment. 

The Testdrive portal provides individual user reporting for regular users, and if you're a Super User, you can see all the activity reporting for customers you have invited too!

So let's run through what we're going to do

Walkthrough Summary

  • Log in to VMware Testdrive Portal 
  • View our own activity and optionally our invited customer activity
  • In order to view activity in Testdrive you'll need the following

    • A valid account in the VMware TestDrive environment, signup here if you don't and follow this guide
    • Super User Access (optionally to view customer activity)

    Open up your favourite web browser and navigate to the portal at

    https://portal.vmtestdrive.com
    	

    Login using your credentials. You'll land on the Dashboard.

     From the  Dashboard page select Manage Users. You'll see all the user's whom you have invited. You can search by info if desired. To view the info for an individual user select Activities. 

    This will open up the User Activity page that displays various usage graphs as well as a Logins section that shows how often this user has logged into the environment. 

    Now, lets go through the various graphs that are displayed in the Activity tab. 

    The first two graphs show Horizon Desktop usage and Workspace ONE usage for the last 30 days in the form of a stacked bar graph. The Y-axis will show the combined number of launches for a particular day. Hover over each color to see individual launches.

     The next graph plots how long your Horizon Desktop Sessions lasted (in minutes) over a period of 30 days.

    The next two graphs are pie charts that display Horizon and Identity Manager resource usage. This helps identify which VMTestdrive resources you or your customer use the most.
