TestDrive Portal Walkthrough
We're going to give you a tour of the new VMware TestDrive Portal 2.0
In order to complete this walkthrough please make sure you have the following:
- A valid account in the VMware TestDrive environment
- Supported Browsers: Chrome, Safari, and Firefox with Internet Explorer support coming soon
Welcome to the new TestDrive Portal Landing Page!
The TestDrive Portal URL is: https://portal.vmtestdrive.com From the login page you can see two main options, "SIGN UP" or "LOGIN". Clicking the "SIGN UP" page will take you to the registration form.
Here you see the Sign Up Form. Now let's move onto to the login page by clicking on "ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT? LOG IN"
You will be taken to the login page. Let's click on the "Forgot password?" link. On the Forgot Password page, you can enter your email address and a new password will be set and emailed to you. Let's click cancel which will take us back to the Login page.
Back at the login page, let's fill in the information with your credentials. After you registered, you will have received an email with your username and if not chosen at registration, your password. Fill in your credentials and click enter.
Now you're logged in and are on the new main dashboard page. Here you can see all the different features of the new website including Help & Support, Users, My Services, and the product Launchers. First let's click on My Services and here you will be able to enable and disable access to different products and partner integrations.
By default only VMware Horizon is enabled. You must go into My Services and enable each product you would like to use as part of your TestDrive experience. If you click on the information button, you will be see additional details regarding the service. Click Cancel to go back to the main dashboard page. Let's go back to the main dashboard page and click on "Launchers"
Now you will see a dropdown that links you to all of the VMware products in TestDrive so you are able to launch and then log into each product.
You're also able to edit information about your account. If you click on the drop down next to the Hello YourName, you can click on "Edit profile" to see all of the profile options.
You're now able to edit your First Name, Last Name, Job Title, and from here you can also change your password if you'd like to. Let's click Cancel to go back to the main dashboard page.
Next let's go over how to invite and manage your customer invitations. Let's start by inviting a new user to the TestDrive environment. Click on "Invite Users". Now we're on the invite users tab, here you will fill in the relevant information for inviting a prospective to have a demo account on VMware TestDrive. Once you've filled in the fields, click Next.
On the next page, you will choose their username, and fill in some additional information. Click Next to continue.
Now you will be able to choose which applications you would like for your prospective to be able to enable or disable. My default Workspace ONE is enabled for all users. Click "Invite" to submit the invitation. You will then see a message letting you know if you had any issues with your invitation or if it was successfully completed. Click "OK" to continue. Now you can go directly to the Manage users tab to see all of your current and past invitations that you've given out to the VMware TestDrive environment. Here you can do a few actions such as extending the time length on an invitation or checking out your customer's activity. Let's click on the clock to extend a customer's invitation time length.
This will take you to the "Extend user's account" page where you can request an extension. Click Cancel to go back to the Manage users page.
Now we can click on the chart icon to see the activity of this user.
Here you can see this user's recent activity in the environment.
Let's return to the main dashboard and let's review the Help & Support area. You can see all of our resources available here, first clicking "Videos" will open the VMware TestDrive video page that has all of our VMware EUC videos available for viewing. Second is a link to our "Walkthroughs and Tutorials" which takes you to the VMware TestDrive KB page. Lastly, click on "Contact Us!" Now you will be given two options for giving us feedback.
First you can click on "I need help!" which will open a ticket in our support system which our team monitors and tracks. The second is for sharing feedback.
From the product dropdown please choose the product you are having an issue with as your option and fill in the rest of the form and click "SEND".
